The Certificate in Second Language Acquisition and Teaching is offered to University of Florida graduate degree-seeking students in linguistics and related disciplines.
As part of its service to the University community, Linguistics also offers programs for international applicants and admitted students. These programs, the English Language Institute (ELI), Academic Written English (AWE), and Academic Spoken English (ASE), are described in the General Information section of this catalog. Applicants who lack a background in linguistics should develop basic competency in the core areas before commencing graduate work. These deficiencies can be met by taking LIN 3010, LIN 3201, and LIN 3460 or the equivalent.
