The Department of Epidemiology – jointly governed by the College of Public Health and Health Professions and the College of Medicine – offers the Doctor of Philosophy degree in epidemiology, Master of Science degree in epidemiology (MSE), the Certificate in Psychiatric Epidemiology (CPE), and the Master of Public Health degree with a concentration in epidemiology (described here). Minimum requirements for these degrees are described in the Graduate Degrees section of this catalog. The programs in the department are designed to prepare students for careers in academic research environments, public health agencies and health-related institutions, and consultation, especially in the biomedical fields.
